Now sure, it's a bit unfair to compare the two due to the latter being a really polished professional and older game, but it does kind of stand out in my mind. Frankly, I'm not sure whether Unity was the best engine choice for such a project.Īll that made me want to compare it to my copy of RCT 3, which runs buttery smooth on the same computer on high. I tried out some of the big parks included in the current version, and not even halfway zoomed out it can have a pretty adverse effect on performance. Changing graphic options from high to lowest really doesn't seem to do all that much. The more scenery items and peeps there are in the park the more performance goes down. The ride cam worked fairly well, but it was clear the game wasn't really designed for such, but it did make me take notice of how wooden support structures can occasionally pop through rollercoaster tracks. Trying to walk through your park can get you incredibly wonky results. The latter is only really good for maybe taking screenshots.

I tried the ride cam and first-person peep mod. As I figured, any blueprint that can be found on Steam's workshop - as long as they actually show the blueprint picture - can be saved and moved into Parkitect's blueprint folder and it'll pop up in the game without a problem. I didn't really play or build much of anything, but I did some testing. I'd like the idea of being able to build a big park (like the one pictured) and meet a high scenario target than have a meagre park hit its meagre target. There was a tendency to tie one hand behind your back in the scenarios that didn't let up later in the game. Thanks for the response! The map size looks good enough to get plenty of rides in and the fact that it will increase beyond that is good to hear too.Īs for restrictions, it's the RCT scenario ones I am referring to. mostly no collision restrictions on scenery, way more track building options, pretty much no restrictions on what modded custom content can add to the game).

You seem to be more interested in the creative building aspect, which is much less limited compared to the RCT series for example (e.g. Different map shapes and bigger sizes will be added.Īpart from that it really depends on what kind of limits you mean. There's only one map size currently that is not gigantic, but fairly big (attached a pic, unfortunately it had to be pretty small due to file size restrictions of this forum). (We'll have proper scenarios later on of course with goals where money does have a meaning, but the sandbox mode will stay as well) Sebioff: It currently only has a sandbox mode, so although there's money you can't go bankrupt, so budget is no restriction.
